(Jean) There are now 4 computers that have no mice balls so those are off, but the rest of the computers are working fine. When first turned on the catalog computers appeared to not connect to the Internet. However, after 9 am they would connect just fine, so maybe there is a time constraint attached to them.
I couldn’t get into bridgeaccess to send a trouble ticket for the Samsung printer issue so I have emailed Stephanie a screenshot of the SQLDumper error (which is probably the reason the printer isn’t working) and also the following list of issues:
-
Bridgeaccess not available on either staff computer: I wonder if the bridgeaccess issue is related to IP addresses. It appears that the link includes an IP address and maybe the school IP address isn’t included in the link. At any rate, neither staff computer would go to bridgeaccess through the sharepoint link. I put in a Bridge Tracker request for RCPL-N.

The corner 30 min computers and IE link. The 30 min by the door links to http://intranet.rcas.org/Pages/Default.aspx. The 30 min in the corner by the walls links to http://www.rcas.org/Pages/Default.aspx which goes nowhere, so by backspacing to www.rcas.org you can get on IE.Please place request to school’s IT help desk to get this fixed. Our 30 minute computers should go to the library’s website, not the school’s.
-
The staff computer at the north end of the desk: 1. Printers and Faxes in the control panel does not respond after Aleph has been opened (or after anything has been opened) 2. Aleph froze when I tried to print a receipt, 3. When I turned on the computer the Samsung spewed out several receipts from the previous day, 4. It appears the SQLDumper isn’t dumping (see screenshot in separate email)
-
The staff computer at the south end of the desk does not have messenger on it. Can we install? Please put in Bridge Tracker request for this. Can place request at the downtown location.
-
When you get the message, “One or more incompatible module (s) in that NCX-2000-XP system has been detected. The additional station (s) may not start or work correctly.” Please just X out of the dialog box, don’t try to install.
Other than the above everything was fine. Just a few patrons. One called ahead to see if we were open during the day yet. Signage hasn’t been changed to reflect our summer hours.
Signage has been changed to reflect the summer library hours including the sign in the locked glass case outside the library. Susan 6-17-09
Dave, from RCAS, just walked in and will try to fix the SQLDumper issue. He brought over 4 mice, which I put on the computers. He also mentioned that all the computers will need to be updated this summer.
Can you ask if there are certain dates when they will be updated so we know how this will affect the use of the computers? Susan 6-17-09
(Marti) Julie was in for a bit – just in time to show me how to help a little girl pay for a lost Beadle book. When you mark a Beadle book as lost (and you can look up students by their names, since they don’t carry cards), it tells you how much the book is – that’s the fine that is assessed. Julie took the money, but I don’t know where we would put it otherwise. Maybe just on her desk?
Had some people in to use the computers as well as check out materials. I issued a new card.

I ran the Trafsys and the Holds Report. 10 computer users when I got here. Jo could not hold family story time in the back area she usually uses because there was furniture in the space. She held it in the table area here.
Added two of our patrons to the Beadle patron list.
Lots of people at story time.
